A delicious and creamy sweet potato casserole topped with a crunchy pecan streusel.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well.
  3. Spread the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the pecan topping over the sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.

Notes

  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness by using less sugar if desired.
