Delicious German semolina and quark dumplings that are light and fluffy, perfect as a dessert or snack.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams semolina
  • 500 grams quark
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 50 grams breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the semolina, quark, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  2. Let the mixture rest for 20 minutes.
  3. Form small dumplings from the mixture.
  4. Roll the dumplings in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the dumplings until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm with fruits or compote.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding lemon zest to the mixture.
  • Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar.
